MoriX begins demonstration test at “Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa” Contactless IC card with fingerprint authentication

(headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Morihiko Kubota, President; hereinafter “MoriX”), a developer and seller of fingerprint authentication systems, has started a demonstration test of contactless IC cards with fingerprint authentication for staff at the Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, an urban aquarium. The test will be conducted at Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, an urban aquarium in Tokyo, Japan.

Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa (4-10-30 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo, in Shinagawa Prince Hotel) is an urban aquarium where visitors can see 20,000 living creatures in 350 species, located in the heart of the city, just a 2-minute walk from Shinagawa Station. The aquarium conveys the appeal of living creatures through a variety of entertainment, including a program of events that vary from season to season.

In this demonstration test, MoriX believes that the use of contactless IC cards with fingerprint authentication will help prevent unauthorized use by third parties and avoid the “three-dense” system, which minimizes human contact in response to the spread of new coronavirus infection.

Comment by Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa

Based on the concept of “fusion of sound, light, images, and living creatures,” the Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa is constantly combining the appeal of living creatures with a variety of content, including exhibits and performances that allow visitors to enjoy the world of the sea through their own senses, and the introduction of an AI illustrated guidebook application. The company has been creating and delivering new entertainment to the market by combining the “fascination of living things” with various kinds of contents, such as exhibition staging, performance development, and the introduction of AI illustrated book applications.

We are pleased to accept the proposal from MoriX, Inc. to enrich people’s lives through new technology.

We will continue to take on various challenges as we aim to grow as “TOKYO’s Cutting-Edge Entertainment”.
