Fingerprints can now be registered on IC cards without a fingerprint reader.

Up until now, the following four devices have been required to register a fingerprint on the “MoriX Card” IC card with fingerprint authentication function.

  1. PC or smartphone
  2. Fingerprint reader
  3. IC card reader/writer
  4. MoriX Card

However, fingerprint readers are expensive and their use is limited, and most people do not have one.

Therefore, the challenge was to create an environment in which fingerprints could be easily registered on the “MoriX Card.

Therefore, MoriX Corporation has developed a technology that uses the fingerprint sensor of the “MoriX Card” to write the fingerprint data read from the card’s sensor onto the card.

With the newly developed technology, the general public will be able to register their fingerprints on the card using only the following three devices.

  • PC or smartphone
  • IC card reader/writer
  • MoriX Card

The elimination of the need for a fingerprint reader means that fingerprints can now be registered on the “MoriX Card” in most customer environments.

In addition, the new fingerprint reader will make it easier for customers to register their fingerprints to the “MoriX Card,” making it possible to use the “MoriX Card” in a wider range of applications, including financial payment cards.

MoriX will continue its efforts to develop new technologies and provide a more comfortable environment for customers to use IC cards with fingerprint authentication functions.

MoriX Corporation is currently accepting inquiries for the issuance of new contact/contactless/contact/contactless IC cards with fingerprint authentication.
